Defense Verdict

In Willenberg v. Bramblett, Rick Righi represented a general contractor in flood litigation. Plaintiff homeowner, age 77, brought claim against general contractor negligently elevating construction pad of adjoining property which caused flooding to Plaintiff's residence. The flooding ultimately resulted in total loss of her residence and required demolition and full replacement. The plaintiff called a civil engineer expert who testified that the general contractor failed to design and construction adequate drainage on adjacent property. Rick advanced the defense that Plaintiff's residence would have flood regardless of new construction. The jury was out for 45 minutes and found for the defendant contractor.
