Kimberly Sierra is a partner at Righi Fitch Law Group. She practices law in both Arizona and New York. Ms. Sierra began her legal career in Phoenix, Arizona in 2006 handling a number of civil litigation cases on the defense side, including construction defect, professional liability, products liability, personal injury, transportation, and insurance bad faith cases. She also handled tribal court matters, specifically in Hopi Tribal Court.
In 2016, Ms. Sierra moved to Albany, New York, where she was staff counsel for a large insurance company handling civil litigation cases in upstate New York, including personal injury and subrogation cases. She also worked for a private law firm handling Workers’ Compensation cases on behalf of the employer and insurance company. Ms. Sierra has defended clients in hundreds of hearings and trials in the New York Workers’ Compensation forum. She has successfully defended employers and carriers having a number of cases disallowed. Ms. Sierra has also, successfully, had numerous favorable decisions with a Judges cutting off an injured worker’s benefits as non-work related, for example, in a recent matter, an injured worker received the maximum wage loss benefits, but due to a prior non-work related injury, the Judge found the injured worker’s inability to work was due to the prior non-work related injury and benefits were suspended. This also saved the client thousands of dollars.
While in law school, Ms. Sierra had an opportunity to attend a summer abroad program in Nice, France, through Hoftra School of Law where she was taught Comparative Constitutional Law by the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, hiking the Adirondacks, and cheering on the Arizona sports teams.
