Righi Fitch Law Group proudly announces that Melissa Lin is now partner of the firm with Beth Fitch, Rick Righi and Chris Begeman! Melissa is excited about the new responsibilities the promotion will bring, "I am thrilled to be a partner at a firm with such a strong reputation for excellent work and for its focus on diversity. I look forward to continuing the great legal work we do for both current and new clients."
The firm trusts that Melissa will continue to help the firm meet its priority to always put the client first. Melissa has been with Righi Fitch Law Group since its inception in 2009. She has worked with Beth and Rick for the majority of her legal career, and has been a practicing attorney for over eight years.
Her practice includes the representation of individuals, contractors, businesses, and municipalities in the defense of and prosecution of tort and contract litigation, primarily in the areas of general liability, construction defects, personal injury, and product liability. She works closely with insurance adjusters and clients to develop the best defense and trial strategy while minimizing litigation expenses. She prides herself on the early evaluation of cases for creative and early case settlement and resolution. As a result of her hard work and successful defense practice, she was honored as a 2012 and 2013 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star, and is a Martindale Hubbell AV rated litigation attorney. She was named to Lawyers of Color's 2013 Inaugural Hot List for the Western Region, and was also named as one of the top valley attorneys in the October/November issue of North Valley magazine.
Melissa has a strong belief in community service and is involved in various legal and community organizations. She is on the board for the Arizona Asian American Bar Association, the Maricopa County Bar Association (MCBA) Litigation Section, and MCBA Construction Law Section. She is the 2014 DRI Diversity Expo Co-Chair and the local marketing chair for the 2014 DRI Women in the Law Seminar, Clients and Counsel: Partnering for Success Seminar. The Phoenix Art Museum honored her as the December 2011 Volunteer of the Month for her work as the 2010-2011 president of the Women's Metropolitan's Art Council (WoMAC). Prior to moving to Phoenix, she received the 2006 Pro Bono Service Award from Community Legal Services in Mohave County.
When Melissa isn't busy at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Frank, rock climbing, doing yoga, running, and walking her three dogs. In fact, she participated in the 2012 SoCal and Napa Valley Ragnar races. She is planning to participate in additional races in 2014 and hopes to participate in her first sprint triathlon in the Summer. Her favorite movies and T.V. shows include: The Harry Potter series, the Voice, and the Walking Dead. Hawaii, Germany, and Spain are among her favorite vacation spots.
