Susan Grenrock is an attorney of Righi Fitch Law Group. She is a trial attorney with over 30 years of workers compensation and civil litigation defense experience. Her practice includes workers compensation, civil litigation, and insurance defense. Susan prides herself on representing clients and always keeping the client's needs at the forefront of the case. She has represented all types of clients including employers, both insureds and self-insureds, in workers' compensation and in insurance defense cases. She has handled a multitude of workers' compensation cases through the appellate level. Susan has defended cases involving "mom and pop" grocery stores to major trucking firms. She has also defended construction companies and hospitals to purveyors of fine food. Susan focuses on providing the most economical and positive resolution during all stages of litigation.
Her practice has also concentrated on representing clients in the field of Medicare set-aside preparation and she is fluent in dealing with Medicare and CMS relating to workers' compensation and general civil matters. As a result, Susan is skilled in preparing set-asides and negotiations with Medicare in order to reduce and maintain limited exposure.
Susan's recent experience involves handling workers compensation cases from their initial stages through their appellate level. Susan was recently asked to defend a case, post-judgment, where the award was in excess of $985,000. As a result of her efforts at the appellate level, Susan appealed the case, arguing before numerous levels of appeal and received a reduced award of $245,000.
During her course of handling workers' compensation claims, Susan has gained an extensive knowledge of the internal workings of risk management. She has lectured and trained hospital personnel, as well as, manufacturers, in the consequences of dealing with false claims. Susan has lectured extensively both to insureds and attorneys alike. Furthermore, she has presented seminars to Liberty Mutual insurance adjusters on negotiation strategy and technique. Susan has worked with businesses in preparing safety manuals and lectured for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Susan continues her work in conjunction with workers' compensation attorneys across the country and will be participating in a multi-state workers' compensation seminar planned in the near future. She is experienced in advising on the use of medical marijuana and the workplace, which is a hot topic for discussion and a litigious grey area for employers due to recently enacted legislation across the United States.
Susan is originally from Chicago, Illinois and is a second-generation attorney. Her grandfather was a product of the depression and became a pre-eminent bankruptcy and creditors' rights attorney. Following in her grandfather's footsteps, Susan continues his practice of representing all genres of business clients, leaving no stone unturned and never forgetting that the client come first.
Her first exposure in litigation began as a law clerk for Fred Lane, a renowned personal injury attorney from Chicago and author of Lane's Goldstein Trial Technique. She assisted in preparation of this trial technique publication, with particular emphasis on preparing the chapter regarding the case of Wilson v. Clark, a leading case on the evidentiary rules of expert testimony at trial.
Susan graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and obtained her Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1982. She continues to practice, representing clients in Arizona from the first meeting through appeals.
